The Anchor Description
The Anchor is an outreach ministry which gathers women of all ages to encourage and anchor them in faith and friendships. It is a place where women can gather in a non-threatening atmosphere to hear about Jesus and be encouraged in the hope we have in Him. It is also a place to connect with new and old friends alike.

The Anchor Blog Article
The blog article is prayerfully prepared and given by one of the Anchor team members or a guest speaker. The length of the Anchor blogpost is 700-1000 words, but less is fine too. The post is based on the speaker’s personal testimony of faith or topic that is based on scripture from the Bible. Write about an Anchor Moment in your life or how you’ve seen Jesus to be real or something you’ve learned about walking in your faith journey that has helped you. Write about anything that would encourage women and fill them with hope since the goal of the blog is to share the hope we have in Jesus and how He is the anchor for our lives now and for eternity. The message needs to be presented in a non-threatening and considerate manner since some of the women have no church background and all levels of faith are represented. We request that the speaker be aware of “faith language” so as to not alienate women who are not believers. PowerPoint can also be used and incorporated into the video if desired.

Other Media
Pictures, videos can be embedded into the article, and key statements, quotes, and verses can be formatted to stand out from the rest of your written text.

Editing
We can have an editor look it over if you’d like, but we encourage all bloggers to proofread their own work.

Business
Guest bloggers are reminded that their invitation to write for The Anchor is not to provide a platform for promoting business but as an opportunity to share their personal faith journey. The speaker may include reference to their business, but any promotional materials/information should be offered only at the end of the blog article and require prior approval from the Anchor team.

History
After Katie Robertson (founder and executive director) experienced the loss of her 19-year-old daughter to a 5-year battle with leukemia, she developed a passion and great desire to share the hope, joy, and strength that come from faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She wanted to share how real He is and how living anchored to the truths of Jesus her daughter and she were able to endure the biggest storm of their lives. It has helped Katie live strong amidst the storm and aftermath of the grief of her treasured loved one to this very day. She has a compelling desire to share this hope we have that is firm and secure.

So many women walk the journey of life alone with no hope or stability. Coming together in community with women of all ages and hearing real-life stories/testimonies of the faithfulness of God in one’s life brings hope and encouragement.

“However, I consider my life worth noting to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” –Acts 20:24

Thank you again for helping to share the HOPE we have in Jesus Christ — the true ANCHOR in this stormy world to women of all ages!
