RETREAT RECAP!

Our Anchor Day Getaway last Tuesday was amazing! Over 90 women gathered in Gig Harbor, Washington to hear from our two main speakers, Katie Robertson and Emily Jamieson and to enjoy a day away from the ordinary. Our 2022 theme was Anchored Living which also happens to be the name of our new quarterly periodical.

Coffee and locally made pastries from Kristen Tayet of Gig Harbor

Our day began with coffee and locally made pastries from Kristen Tayet of Gig Harbor and a welcome from board member Joy Zorn and then the fun began! We were joined by “Paula” (link here to video I sent via text) who had everyone laughing as we settled in for our day at the cozy Westley Inn.

“Paula’s” introduction!

A delicious lunch was catered by Richard’s Too Good BBQ and a huge cookie platter provided a little something sweet to fuel us all for the afternoon. A panel discussion featured women from every decade of life and provided further inspiration and insight into how God is working in our daily lives, no matter what our circumstances.

We ended our day aboard the historic Concordia anchored in the harbor in front of what will soon be The Anchor’s first physical office space! Heavy appetizers from Morso Bistro (a Gig Harbor wine bar and market) and a splash of wine were shared as women continued to share insights from the day and visit with friends new and old.

Lunch was a hit!

“We chose this year’s them of  “Anchored Living” to remind us about the calm, the protection and the peace that comes with knowing that Jesus is our anchor…no matter what the storms of life bring.  We want to encourage others to live anchored to Jesus—the Way, the Truth and Life!”

Katie Robertson

“I feel so uplifted as a result of being around women of God with a common purpose of worshipping Him and desiring to be Godly women in a world that’s troubled and turmoiled.”

Tammy Reeves

“A day well spent with Godly women who anchor themselves in the hope and peace that Jesus promises when we follow Him.  Katie and Emily shared inspiring and humorous messages of what is looks like to prioritize our relationship with Jesus above all else.”

The retreat was exactly what my heart needed.  Not only did I laugh and cry with other women at my table, I was able to see how God is working in other women’s lives.  Truly so very inspiring!  I can’t wait for next year.”
